Match Week is the culmination of four challenging and rewarding years of medical study. On Monday, March 13, 2017, graduates participating in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)'s Main Residency Match get confirmation of a residency match and on Friday, March 17 ("Match Day"), they learn the location and specialty of their residency programs–the next step in their careers as physicians.
AUC has several ways to capture the excitement of Match Day (known as #AUCMatchMadness). With students at hospital sites around the Unites States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, we are convening virtually to share in the celebration. This year, events and watch parties are being hosted in the following locations:
- Friday, 3/17 (12:30-2:30pm ET): Residency reveal luncheons at AUC's campus, Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, Center for Haitian Studies, Danbury Hospital, Nassau University Medical Center, and Providence Hospital. Participants will open their official NRMP assignment email at 1pm ET and share their matches!
- Saturday, 3/18 (7-9pm): Evening celebrations in Baltimore, Baton Rouge, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York.
